Think Steamboat Springs and think of the Wild West. The ski resort town of Steam boat is the perfect existing example of a classic Wild West town. Adding to this rustic cowboy feel is the presence of numerous ranches, pubs which resonate with the hearty laughs and jokes shared by the ranchers, steak houses, old world log cabins and the nostalgic feel of old times. It is this atmosphere which makes the guests to come and visit it.

The ski resort of Steamboat is not located in the town itself and is at a short distance away from the road. Though the ski resort may be away from the main town but this does not make it in any way cut short on the facilities it has to offer its guests. When considering accommodation this ski resort destination has the option of luxury as well as moderately priced accommodations.

The Steamboat Grand is an excellent 4 star hotel offering all kinds of modern amenities while on the other hand the Bunkhouse Lodge as well as the Rabbit’s Ear Motel is frequented by guests who desire moderately priced accommodations.

Reaching there

Steamboat ski resort can be accessed by means of the airports situated at Hayden and Denver. The Hayden airport is situated at a distance of 22 miles from Steamboat and can be covered in half an hour while the Denver airport is at a distance of about 170 miles.

Skiing locations

The snow clad slopes of Steamboat can be best explored during the months of November and April. There are enough slopes to satisfy the needs of all categories of skiers. No one is left in the ski resort of Steamboat who would have less or no options to entertain themselves on the snow. The snow covered areas at the base of the slopes is where the beginners would be seen working on their skills and getting a hang of the sport.

The ski school present here is run by a well known Olympian and is by far the best place to learn the exact basics of skiing in order to learn it the correct way. The intermediate skier would feel comfortable to higher his stake and graduate to the next level of slopes. They can be seen gliding on the pistes which include Sunshine and the Morningside Park.

The presence of an excellent lift system makes the transportation between slopes all the more easy and convenient for the guests.

Activities beyond the slopes
